Anyone ever run Beaverun? What kind of track times?

I don't have a video but the time [ 1:05.3 ] was made during qualifing for a race with the SCCA I believe it was two years ago. I haven't come close to that lately. I think the driver and engine are laying down. I run there and instruct about 10 times a year. Fun track but hard on brakes.
Their open track days give about 2 to 3 hours of actual track time if you want. That is also provided you are in group 3 which doesn't require a instructor. Try it out you will love it.

This track was my first try at playing road courses. Its holds a special place with me and I don't go back enough.
I was able to find Ians vid from 08. 3.13 over 3 laps 2 laps at 1.03's. Next yr he ran 3.08's. Danny Popp in the mongoose was a 1 sec quicker. The Viper that Won ran 3.03's

I like how little steering input is needed.

Yeah, I'm signed off at Beaverun, have been for a couple years, I just never see these times up there. Turn 7 has gotten substantially more wavy, maybe that's a factor. I've seen some FAST people up there not running 1:05's in GT3 Porsches.
I'm prepping an e36 M3...just wondering what the fast people are running up there. I had my C4 out there years back, but wasn't timed, just ran with them. I spent most of my time running a very poorly setup GTM that's been an evolution of time and money to make right. Gettin there.

I thought I'd share the following video after reading this thread. It is the first 3 laps of the SCCA STO race July 31, 2011:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wa90lhhN460
Lap 2 was a 58.9, which set a new STO record. For reference, the T1 track record was reset in this event as well, but Andrew Aquilante, with a 1:00.7.
It was hot that day, over 90 degrees, so cooler weather would have helped. I ran an "easy" 58.3 in qualifying in the morning with 70 degree temps.
Throw some good tires on the car, and get me "motivated" (I wasn't racing anyone in class) and I think a 56 is in the car.

Andrews car was a 2007 ls2 engined T-1 car. Still has the same engine in it from the 2007 runoffs that he won. Over 35 races and running strong. Stock everything and has never been touched internally. It does have the GM Performane winged oil pan on it that seems to work fine.

We just ran a race there last weekend and qualified at a 1:05.777 and set the Touring 3 lap record at 1:06.308 in ouir Nissan 350Z. Track records can only be set during the race in SCCA.
The good news is that the track was purchased by a real car enthusiast who has firm plans for facility improvements and will also add to the track with about a mile just past turn one and then back to the existing track near the top of the hill.
Also he is working something out with the local government to share the costs of replacing the access road which is a disaster.

Yeah, this is what I'd heard! I met the owners who run those Vipers last year. I definitely didn't hear about the track extensions though! Just last week I was talking to a friend and we were discussing the possibilities that track seems to have in terms of expansion on the north track. It was my hope since they raced pretty frequently they would take an interest in improving the track, but who knows the real financial issues they may face there.
That entry road has been an ongoing dispute with the township and Beaverun, which is why it's still torn to hell. Hey, at least they filled some potholes this year! I'll be heading up to Beaverun for the flat out day on the 12th this month to run this Corvette that's been stored away for a LONG time. Gonna put some laps on her and see how things go.
