Installin Elite Engineering heel/toe gas pedal
Did you remove the whole gas pedal assy or take just the pedal off? What is involved to take the whole assy out? I think I'm too old, fat, and inflexible to change the pedal in place!

I think that might be as difficult if not more-so than just swapping the pedal as far as getting at things (don't know for sure haven't done it). However taking the seat out is very easy - a couple of clips on the front and 5 bolts(4 floor, seat belt anchor) plus removing the harness clips. If you pulled the seat out you'd have a lot more room to work.

Best I remember, the spring to keep pedal upright on mount was the hardest part of the installation. Keep trying, you'll eventually get it there. I left assembly in the car and removed pedal only.

At this point I can't even get the pin out! No luck with vice grips. I have a c-clamp but can't get both hands in there to hold it in place while tightening and trying to hold a socket in place. I need three arms!

Place small socket over the head of the pin that holds the gas pedal on. Then use a small c clamp or channel lock pliers, one end on the socket and the other on the pointed end of the pin, and squeeze or tighten c clamp and the pin will release into the socket, it is nurelled under the head and fits tight. Watch how the spring is on the pin!!!!! and pedal and pedal arm. The new pedal uses a bolt and nut. Call me if you need help, I have done several. JD

Maybe these pictures will help. You can see the grove in the pin that the spring gets caught on. If you get the spring out of the grove you can press out the pin. I still think it would be easier to cut the plastic tabs on the pedal and go from there.
Best of luck

For future reference, it's VERY easy to take the entire pedal assembly out of the car. I can't remember how many bolts it is, but remember it's a drive by wire, so you unplug the wiring harness, unbolt the mounting plate, and the whole thing comes out. It's very easy to swap the pedal out when it's on your workbench
