Default OBX Limited slip diff.

Has anyone had experience with OBX Limited slip as an alternative to Quaiffe?

Some articles say there is little or no difference in quality or performance.

I broke my diff casing in the last race and I was considering upgrading to Quaiffe until I heard about OBX.

Cheers,
CV

I don't have any first hand experience but,

OBX??? Aren't they the JDM knockoff company? They're making diffs in China now???

Here is a pretty good comparison of OBX versus Quaife

Here is the first link I found with a description of the Corvette diff...pretty funny.

Even the rice boys avoid OBX.

Besides, to each his own, but helical differentials cause trailing throttle oversteer in IRS cars driven at the limit. The OSGiken is a much better choice for a Corvette.

I would avoid OBX at all costs.

I am from the ricer world and they are not worth it: cost/trouble ratio.

They used to manufacture descent parts but quality has gone out the window for all their products (cams, springs, etc)

Default Thanks, guys.

I appreciate the feedback. We went back to a beefed up stock diff. If I change to a 3:90, we will go with an OS Giken. Good, but bloody expensive! The autocross guys swear by them.

I put the OSG w/3.15 gears in my A6 replacing the 2.56 and have been very happy with it (thanks UNITRAX). It makes no noise and it no longer spins the inside wheel when pushed hard as the OEM diff did -- even after being rebuilt under warrantee. I use it for street, autox, and HPDE.
