I also have the Phoenix tow hooks (C6ZO6). My front hook is more to the left of center. When positioned in the vertical position, it just clears the license plate (Top Flight Reproductions). It is a little troublesome to mount the license plate with the tow hook in place.

Thanks. Any photos. I am trying to get a good idea of placement before I start in on my project. Seems like there is some variability from how folks have done the placement.

Sorry, separated from the Z until Oct 1. The Phoenix front tow hook uses an existing hole in the frame. (There is a DIY somewhere for installation)
The hole on the Phoenix is somewhat oblong so it is slightly adjustable, maybe 1/4 " max. You set the position so that the hook fits through the grill then drill the second hole. Bolting the unit up is another issue entirely.

I taped the nut and washers onto a box-end wrench then taped a rod onto the wrench to provide sufficient length. to keep the nut vertical, I taped some spacers to the unused end of the wrench to eliminate one degree of freedom. After I tried this, mounting the base was pretty quick.

If you are having trouble visualizing the above description, I can set something up and take a picture.

Mine is way More on the driver side. No where near the license plate. Happy to email a picture if you like.

They also made a removable rear hook for me because my B&B tips were to close to each other in the center.

If you pm JFAphoenix I'm sure he will send pics

Sorry for the lousy picture. This is where Phoenix installed mine.

The front was the standard hook. They made the rear one for me because we could not get a standard hood between the tips on my B&B fusion
