How many of you have removed your Parking Brake?
Just curious.
When I was helping a buddy strip his 944 for PCA SP2 we removed all of the parking brake hardware from the rear wheels. Of course we avoid using the parking brake at the track and he wanted to shave off every possible pound anyway.
I was thinking about this while trying to get that damn piece of "coat hanger" Chevy calls a spring back in and just about pulled it all off in a fit of frustration anyway.
So I'm probably one more event away from new rear rotors and was thinking about pulling it all off and adding to the junk pile.
Thoughts?

Mine has been gone quite awhile.

gone. Didn't work anyway. 2 piece rotors do work.
remember that you cannot leave your car while it is running while on a incline. Who would ever do such a thing?

Barking Brake Delete
Back when Florida still had state inspection I removed the parking brake and all related hardware from my '69 and insalled a line lock in the rear brake line using the little switch on the parking brake handle for the line lock.
Put the brakes on, pull up the handle, release the foot brake just like the inspector wants to see looking in the window and let the clutch out (in third gear instead of first if you can get away with it), engine stalls and the inspector is happy
We no longer have state inspections, so my 'new' '69 has no parking brakes and the handle may disappear from the inside too. I just can't decide how much I want to mess with a custom interior.

e-brake delete and 2 pc rear rotors is 7-8 lbs of weight savings EACH corner, that's huge. ~16 lbs of unsprung gone for $600 and rotors that will last way longer than OEM or Chinese pot metal ones, hard to beat it.

You will need a parking brake, they sell custom racing ones at some specialty stores.
I got mine at a specialty racing shop called Home Depot. Look in the "construction and contractor" area. There will be a bin labelled "scrap pile", it's full of a really nice selection of parking brakes. I chose a treated 2x4, about 6 inches long.
It's tough to set it from in the cockpit, though.

Former Vendor
Once you decide to remove the parking brake, we make 2 piece rear rotors without the parking brake provision. We use Coleman Racing rotors and machine the aluminum hats ourselves. They are direct bolt in replacements, directional, correctly vented, no holes, 100% made in the USA, and are very lite. The C5 rears weigh less then 10 pounds! We have them for the C5/C6 base, C6 Z51, and C6 Z06.
