Default Place to stay near VIR this weekend?

I'll be running with Chin Sunday and Monday but looks like the NASCAR folks near Martinsville have collected up all the hotel rooms. Nothing to be found, not even the garages at VIR. Saw that even the $40 dive I usually stay at (Innkeeper) raised their prices to $179... Not much of a camper and don't feel like sleeping in the car so need bed and electricity.

Where's the closest town to look if not Danville?

Anything west of VIR is gonna be tough, Khoi. Been there, done that. I started looking for a room 200 miles west of there once and lucked out after getting there with a cancellation at 2am.

Good luck, you will need it. NASCAR at Martinsville, and the 13 hour enduro at VIR on Sat., rooms are impoosible within 40 miles, unless you catch a cancellation. Good luck.

You're absolutely right. Looks like Greensboro about 45 miles south should do the trick. See some cheap openings...

Hotels in north Durham are 45 min away and the drive to the track on back roads is really nice to warm up :-)

I found a room in S. Boston at the Super 8 for a reasonable rate. That; however, was about a month ago. South Boston is an easy drive to VIR.Good Luck,
Jim

You could also stay in Burlington about halfway between Durham and Greensboro and less than an hour from VIR. If you want any suggestions on where to stay and/or directions from Burlington shoot me a pm.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Looks like Greensboro wasn't affected by the NASCAR frenzy. I booked a cheap room there and its on the way for me so works out......
