Default Next step in my never ending build sheet

Well season is over for most in the central/northern areas. I can't stay idle for long. I made the commitment two months ago to take my C6Z to the next level. With the help of DRM this will be a contender in NASA TTU class. Should make 550-560 RWHP and have all the bells and whistles... the rest will be up to me

This is and add-on from last winters build list and this years mods consist of the following......

Forged & coated JE pistons, ported heads, cam, rods, valves, springs, rod and main bearings this should add around 90RWHP for a total around 560 RWHP.
New Davis cooling system with 2 stage oil, trans and diff cooler, RPS dual carbon clutch, DRM coilover package, Alcon race brakes, APR rear wing and Rear half of the cage.

A few pics of the cage fab to start with and I'll add more as it goes.

Cage is being fitted and tacked in place in the following shots

More to follow as the build goes on

That is going to be one Fast and Safe car once DRM finishes the job. Keep us informed as the build progresses.

Gary,

Buying a cage is the best money you can spend on a track car. May it be a moot point and never get tested.

Keep an eye on Randy up there and remind him you don't need any spiked tires for ice racing.

Mike-
Randy did the hard sell on the spiked tires but I told him the ice never gets thick enough around here to get the car out in the winter

Although it would be nice to do a little shake down on the car when it gets home

Take care
G

PS.... Scott I know where to find you in the spring

Any pics of how they're attaching the steel cage to the aluminum frame? Glad they went through the rear wall... only right way to do it in these cars

Always interesting to see how different shops do it... not trying to leak any trade secrets though

Looks like the rear section of my cage is very similar to yours, but I don't have those two lower side bars going from the main hoop back to the rear anchor points and my car is steel

Don't worry guys no spiked tires on this one. 1200 dollar fenders wouldn't work that well. I have a new ice racing car in the works, the only problem is 1 hour of working on it a month it's going to take 68 years to finish it

Randy, Todd, and company worked on my car this past Spring and Summer (roll bar to full cage, suspension overhall, and a number of other items). Everyone was great to work with despite my being fairly particular on what I wanted. I'm thrilled with the results. You picked a great shop to do the work.

Got a sneek peak at the new brakes. The name Alcon I know is not the bead and butter name that alot here would think of for brakes but with a background like NASCAR, ALMS, F1, INDY and recommended by DRM I should be in for a great package. The install will include their purpouse built master cylinder for a supper ferm pedal

A couple of snaps below

front

rear

I think you can safely assume anyone into racing knows who Alcon is
