Nissan is making it easier to take the 370Z racing, offering a race-prepped version of the sports car.
The 370Z Nismo RC meets World Challenge GTS and FIA GT4 specifications. With a few modifications it can compete in the Grand Am Continental Tire Challenge GS class.
Nissan fits the car with a roll cage, a Recaro racing seat, a Sparco steering wheel and a carbon-fiber switch panel. Plenty of creature comforts, such as interior trim and carpeting, are left out. The race version of the 370Z weighs 2,954 pounds, compared with 3,245 pounds for a 2012 Nissan 370Z coupe.
Under the hood is a 3.7-liter V6 rated at 355 hp and 276 lb-ft of torque. The civilian-duty Z car uses the same engine, rated at 332 hp and 270 lb-ft.
From the Nismo parts bin, the 370Z RC gets a performance exhaust, a high-capacity clutch, engine controller and coolers for the engine oil, transmission and differential. Hoses and connectors are upgraded to racing spec.
Interested? Nissan says to give it a call at (888) 833-3225 or send an email to nmc.race@nissan-usa.com.

Concept is neat.. not sure I'd like those heat exchangers hanging low out back like that.

I don't think he was talking about speed. Try running a full race in that GT-R.

Teh One in SpeedWorld GT gets its but kicked
a few have been to NASA events. They do well in the TTU but in SU the ST2 cars are faster. Think the driver gets a bit shaken when he cant drive flat out all the time.

I think people are realizing it costs a ton of money to track one of them. When the GT-R fever first hit, you saw a lot of them at the track, now, might see one or two. Some of the GT-R tuners even stopped running them because of the costs associated. They weigh a ton even stripped, does not make for a good race car. But good for 2-3 lap time trials though. But the fast ones have between 1-2 TONS of HP, lol.
But that 370Z even in race trim isn't going to be much faster (at least for a few laps) than the street GT-R with comparable rubber and some minor tweaks.
