? about changing out shocks
I'm switching to z06 shocks on a base 08 and have some questions. I read on the forum that you should jack stand the car on the a arm joint, is this right? I have access to a lift at a friends house. Any special tools needed? Alignment doesn't need to be redone right?
Thanks

BTW... if you need shocks I have a set of take-offs with less than 2k miles on them

There's some good write-ups on the C6ZO6 Forum. It's not hard at all, even on jackstands. I used bigazzed wire ties from Lowes to hold the shocks compressed and they worked great. Go with the poly or delrin ($$$) bushings or repeat the process later.

Jack stands are fine--no issue. Main thing is as said above, need cable ties or zip ties (use many) to keep the shock compressed before you take it out. Also need a good jack to push the suspension up...but you should aleady have that. Also, for the rears, a good torque wrench is helpful, the torque there (C5)is 160 ft-lb I think. Helped me also to lube the bottom clevis of the rear shocks as one of them squeeked after I did it without.

Sorry
it I may have spoke to soon. I put them on my c5 so u might be ok. Bi would still measure. I think the suspensions are very similar. I measured before and after I drove it and it lifted me back up to stock height and messed my alignment.... hopefully this will not happen to yours.
