Corvette racing league Forming for 2012 at NJMP
Any one interested..
SCCA and NASA c5 and C6 corvettes.
Two classes
STO/ST1
T-1/ST2
we can use the power to weight formula that NASA uses.
Corvettes only...
I have a mobile chassis dyno and scales. tech on location to keep it simple.
Fun racing... No silly rules.
4 SCCA events and two NASA events. Plus some NJMP track days or maybe even one of their pro races..
make them in a user friendly format.. Qualifying/qualifying race/race/race. over two days.
Any one interested? keep it local at NJMP to start with. Corvette tuning shops welcome to participate.
All cars must have cages and safety equipment. Licensed drivers..
What else.??

I'm in and can think of at least 4 other guys that will be there as well from the NASA side.
Is this going to run in parallel with the NASA/SCCA weekend, or will it be a race within the race?

I personally would like to do something like this in Atlanta. We have companies like MTI and Vengeance that would likely encourage more of this?
No organization let. My take is to try blend the Cruise In Crowd and NASA events...
I think if more people understood how "ready" their cars are, more would at least go to HPDE?
Pointers would not hurt?

I hope this isn't too dumb of a question, does an unmodified car fall into one of those catagories? If it does, I guess I would need a roll cage? What other safety equip?

I believe this is for logbooked race cars from NASA/SCCA/NARRA/Grandam/? and drivers with a current comp license from the recognized organizations.

I know of at least two others who are hpde track rats like myself and at least 6 others who occasionally track thier cars. We stopped driving with PDA/NASA a few years ago when they started combining their race schools with thier hpdes and have been running with other organizations ever since. If you offer something like hpde seperate from the race school/ racer practice, it'll probably go a long way. (flame suit on)
