Albeit not on an LS motor, I've got a SPEC on my 89 and have had zero issues with it. Keep in mind that if you decide to go with the SPEC clutch, and order a clutch from SPEC with the flywheel, they will come as a balanced assembly. They will be bolted together when it arrives, so make sure you mark it so that they go back together the same way when you are installing it.

AASCO. I changed from a fidanza to one after it shattered. Best move I ever made. Don't know about the Ram but I have a Ram clutch and its really good.
Fidanza is out of business now I hear.

Exploding clutches and flywheels can kill you. I'd make sure the flywheel aluminum or steel was SFI rated. After that it is tomato or tamato.

What car is this going in? Going for a AutoX/track day set up again? Is the car street driven? Spec has less than stellar customer support in my experience with them.

yeah c5 z06 for HPDE/AX and street.
I have to do more research to their weights. I think fidanza weighs the least.
thanks guys!

thats the problem. Compare a fidanza to an AASCO. The centre meat is half as thick. Go lighter and maybe blowup? Thats not good. I proved that. Be careful.

Default Lightweight flywheels...

Not sure about Canam's comment, but no known record of a Fidanza piece shattering. All their stuff is 6061 T6 billet; they've been around for years and started as a race shop building cars. I do know they are still in business and going strong. Check on the web.

Ive heard that the Spec piece is actually made by Fidanza...not sure if its to the same spec tho (no pun intended) so they may not be directly comparable.

+1 on Spec customer service....if you have a problem..don't expect them to step up ..cause they won't.

never had a problem with Fidanza flywheels.
