Old thread but a good place to post follow up....I've run EXCLUSIVELY a square setup with 285/35 555R II's on 18 X 10.5 my C5Z with zero issues. Being able to rotate track tires into any position and equalize tire wear is huge! With the square setup my car is balanced and fast.
FWIW, The AH and TC are all switched off on the track.

Do the tires stick out the front fenders, maybe an inch(?), look weird, or anything?
About to buy a 2nd set of 18 x 10.5 oem rears for the front just to be able to buy the Pilot SS...
this is for a '99 c5
thanks

I run 285/35-18 square without issue, no spacers, if I go full lock the add on brake ducts hit the inside of the tires but that's common regardless of front wheel size. The front tires do not stick outside of the fenders.

thanks.
the difference between 285/35/18 (yours at all four), and 265/35/18 (suggested fronts on mine) is...
the 265's are slightly lower tire sidewall profile?
overall height of wheel / tire on yours is higher?

Having looked at wide 255's and 265's on a 9.5" wide wheel, I wouldn't stretch one across a 10.5" wheel. IMO, it'll look way stranger than just running a square wheel/tire setup.

Forget about TR recommendations...for some reason they believe that the C5 needs to maintain the original diameter stagger, which it doesn't. If your intention is track performance, you need the biggest footprint that you can reasonably fit on each corner. If you are running square, that size is generally a 285 or 305 unless you are running slicks. So...there is no reason to run a 265 when a 285 or larger will fit on the car with the 18" C5Z rim. The only caveat to running a 285 or larger is on cars that are severely lowered, which is a problem in its own for track cars.
There is lots of good advice on the CF regarding this subject from people that are EXPERIENCED running C5's on square C5Z 18's. Forget about TR or anyone else that is selling tires to the masses. JMHO

Here is my car lowered on stock bolts with TSW NURBURGRING 18X10.5 65MM offset with Falken rt-615k 315/30-18 all around.
Alignment is -2.35 camber 0 toe 6.8 caster front -1.5 camber 3/16 toe in rear. No rubbing issues.
Might be trying the Bridgestone re-71r in 275/35-18. They run on the wide side. Here is the tire mounted on a 18x10.5 rim next to the 285/35-18 Hankook rs-3 v2.

A 265/25 is going to be very stretched, if the tire installer can even do it. Depending on tire brand, I wouldn't go with anything smaller than a 285/35. I'd advise you to look for a larger size.

I fixed a tire size typo...NOT 25
meant mounted on oem c5z06 rear wheels measuring 18 x 10.5:
Pilot Super Sports
Front 265/35/18
Rear 295/35/18
Still too stretched?
confusing, as it was suggested above to run 295/35/18 on all four.

are these on oem c5z06 rear wheels (18" x 10.5") at all 4 corners?

So, Zed and Fcarga, thanks...
285, or 295, 35/18's at all four corners both work, no issues; no spacers, right?
...with the 285's not sticking outside of fenders as per post #46.
have factory brake ducts on my '99.

I am planning on 18x10.5 on all 4 corners with 295/35 Nitto Invo's up front and 305/35 Toyo R888's in rear. Nittos do tend to run small.

Adam, 295 is an ideal fit for a 10.5" wheel. As you've seen, people have also run 305 and 315 as well. While you might be able to get the 265 on the wheels, why run so small anyway? A 265 is suited for a 9-9.5" wheel. If you don't mind the stretched look (Google image search) then sure, go for it. If you plan on any hard cornering, well, I'd be worried about the bead of the tire breaking loose from the wheel. Does that happen? I'm not sure, but it sure seems possible.
