Default Corbeau FX1 pro question

I have a cobra seat on a hard bar fixed seat bracket on the driver side of my C5. I would like to add something to the passenger side as economically as possible to allow me to take a coach.

If I use a corbeau fx1 pro on the passenger side with the corbeau slider ( I already have one). Will I have any issues sitting in the seat with a helmet for a 5' 10' person?

Where is the point where headroom becomes a problem for this set up?

Default Seat thread size

Also, does anyone know the thread size for the stock seat studs coming up from the floor used to mount the seats to the car. I need to buy new nuts. Grade 8 I assume?

I have that set up and I'm 5' 10" - no problem what's so ever. BUT, if your coach has more than a 38" waist he won't fit in the FX1 Pro. What I run is the Pro for myself on the driver's side and a standard FX1 on the passenger side. Both seats are on Corbeau sliders.

I have Corbeau FX1's on both sides on the Corbeau sliders and I'm 6'1 1/2 and have no problem fitting in the car.

However, I don't recommend the Corbeau sliders. I'm getting ready to get rid of mine. They don't recline the seats enough IMO and make it uncomfortable to drive around in. I even tried the shave method and they sit too upright IMO.

No fitment problem with the regular FX1? I was under the impression people had trouble getting them to fit.

If mounted directly to the slider the FX1 will rub (just barely) the upper door trim. If you stick an 1/8" spacer between each of the two outboard seat mounting bolt holes and the slider the seat fits just fine.
You can't tell the difference looking at the seat after the install.

My track pardner is 6'3" or better and he's ridden with me in the FX1 seat many times and seems to clear OK.

How the heck did you fit at 6'3"? Im 6'2" and do not fit.
I don't know if its my mount / slider, but I have an FX1 in my '02 z06 with what I think is the corbeau slider and I barely fit with no helmet. With a helmet I do not fit and have to slouch down into an uncomfortable position to be able to keep my head from hitting.

I am currently exploring options to lower the seat, whether its getting a reclining seat like the a4 or possibly a new slider mount, maybe shaving the base / remounting the seat somehow, I don't know yet.

My Z is an 01 and somewhere in there they changed the headliner. That may be the difference.

I will spare everyone the painful install iterations I have been through with my FX1 Pros. I'm 5'11". I must be "long bodied" because I couldn't fit with a helment on either. I ended up going with the Arizen sliders. Those allowed me to tilt the seat back slightly (which helps) and I need to cut&sand off the rear mounting posts on the seat. Now my helmet clears with a little more than 1" of headroom.

I'm 6'0 and use FX1 Pros on sliders and I don't fit with helmet on. I remove the seat cushions on track. This year I'm installing the hardbar rails to side mount the seat and move it down a little.

I am 5' 11 1/2" and I barely fit with helmet. I have FX1 Pro with Corbeau slider. I have the FX1 on the passenger side with custom rails that are offset by 1/2 in so no rubbing. It is not on a slider and because I switch stock seats back for dd, seat is farther forward than I would like just so I can reach rear bolts. Yaw sensor makes it hard to do anything else without moving sensor.

I have a similar, but slightly different set up. I am using a Cobra seat with Arisen sliders and I have plenty of head room....Of course it helps not having a roof

I ended up with the cobra Suzuka and hardbar rails on the driver side and I used the fx1pro with corbeau slider on passenger side. I look for the shortest instructor because there is little headroom on the passenger side.

There is very little comparison between my driver and passenger set ups. I really like the cobra on the hardbar rails

Thanks for all the help.

With the sliders IMO you get less headroom than with the stock seats when lowered down all the way. I have my FX1 mounted with the side rails. Obviously it is fixed in place, but at 6' 5" I have plenty of headroom and more leg room than if it was on sliders.

Funny thing is that the FX1 Pro says it only fits up to a 36" waist, but I have a larger waist and fit no problem!

I find this rather funny, I was gonna make a comment about finding the skinniest instructor, that way, he'll fit in your seat AND keep the total weight of the vehicle down

Good info. Going to install the fx1, 38" and 6'-1" tall.
