I'm putting AP T1 on the front and need to replace the worn-out stock rear calipers. 'Have heard that the C6 unit is beefier in front and bolts on. Is this also true for the rear? Are the Base and Z51 caplipers the same?

I can't answer your question 100%, but I do know that the C6 base and C6 Z51 calipers have different piston sizes. Personally, I've never had issues with the rear calipers. My car has over 122,000 miles on it and I recently rebuilt the rear calipers when I put the Wilwoods on. I left the dust boots out so it's one less thing to melt. If the calipers aren't spread I'd just rebuild them and carry on. My $0.02.

is this the front? I assumed all of the C5/C6 calipers had the 1 9/16" dual bores.

I don't know the exact specs, but I do remember reading that the Z51 brakes on the C6 had different piston sizes than the base calipers.
