Default race seat mounts...?

I want to get a set of sparco evo plus seats and everywhere i read says make your own mounts. I would just like to buy something that bolts right up. Is that possible?, im 6'5 so i dont need sliders and just want it back and low as possible. Options?

Sparco sells bolt in seat bases for C5s and C6s. For an EVO, I believe you'd need the base and the side mount rails to bolt the seat to the base. If this is going to be for a car that has a harness bar or roll bar, I'd highly recommend a back brace also, but those you have to get elsewhere. I know Brey-Krause makes them.

6'-5" with the OEM seat base and a sparco he will have to leave his head on the ground. Doubt the plus size will fit. I tried a Evo II and it hits the door on a C5 I sold it and got a Kirkey.

You won't fit in anything Sparco etc. makes. You need a custom fit Ultrashield or Kirkey on Hardbar seat rails.

I even trimmed the top layer of the floor in my race car to gain an extra 5/8" by being able to remove the Hardbar seat stud adapters. This is as low as it gets... I'm 6'4" 240ish.

Yup they work great for skinny people. If you feel like driving a few hours you can play around with my recaro seat / hard bar mount combo.

kirkey seats with hardbar rails. I have no issue driving on the street with the kirkeys once I got everything set right, but you can easily swap your street seats in and out if you want.

If you can find a Motorsports shop that has multiple brands and styles of seat somewhere within driving distance that would be the best thing you could do. It would give you a chance to sit in seats, and maybe even do some trial fitting before committing to a specific seat which you would have to do if you order on line. Take some tools/door opening coverings along so you can pull your seat and see which ones might actually fit. You also have to worry about how tall the seat back is. My 17 inch wide Ultrashield rubbed the headliner in my C5Z and I had it as low as it could go on the Hardbar rails since I couldn't spread them any wider in the car. A 16 inch seat would have fit between the rails and allowed the seat to drop another inch or so. At 6'5" you will have to very sure of what you are going to do before committing the dollars.

^ I had a 17" Ultrashield w/ Hardbar rails in my old car (vs. the custom fit one I have now). The trick is bolting the rails to the seat and then forcing it in the car. It's super tight to the tunnel but it will go in and will be as low as you can go with the carpet etc. still in there. In 2003 they put a new headliner in that was a couple inches lower in the rear... had some added padding under it. It was common for taller people with later cars to swap in the earlier headliner.

then you need a Kirkey because a sparco is not deep enough.

Yes... they're made for little Italians. They have a "tall" model, but they made that one narrower in the hips than the standard Evo 2. Plus, even if the tall model was wider my shoulders would still cover the harness pass-throughs.

Best part is that my custon fit Ultrashiled shipped to my door was $540. The basic Sparco is like $700.

I'm 6'-3", 230# 38" waist, 32" inseam. I'm running the Sparco Evo2 Plus seats with Piper Motor Sports fixed brackets and I have plenty of headroom now. I did cut the padding out from under the carpet. It's a major PITA not to have the seats adjustable and I might just buy an adjustable bracket for the passenger seat, but at least I've got headroom.

Some mentioned that the Sparcos are not deep enough... I guess that explains why I still knock the skin off my knees!

Jim
