Default Door panel Replacements?

Instead of removing the door panel completely, does anyone know of just flat panels that reduce the weight of the OEM panel, but still retains the door switches?

Something along these lines:

DIY'ers welcome as well!!

I have my panels off at the moment and was actually looking at the CF panels in a GT3 Cup yesterday thinking how awesome that would be.

Surely someone could fab these and sell them?

When you get to the track, take out the glass.

Doesnt having no windows create pressure towards your back window at high speeds? Basically holding your back some

I have yet to run a road course even where you were allowed to keep your windows up while on track.

Thanks for the Info. To make. Im trying to avoid running nothing because I still have passengers and drive the car for fun (haven't made the decision to make it track only). I plan on putting a Plexiglass plate over the door and Ill post pics of my progress

Also have been thinking about Lexan Side windows, hmm

I'm a zip-tie guy also, sorry! I don't think it would take much effort to makes something out of aluminum or fiberglass, but zip-ties get the job done much easier

I was at one last week - of course that was because it was pouring rain.

I have just two rough pics. The film hasnt been taken off yet. When I first made the holes to attach the cover I made the push pin too tight. having to take it off later to work on another area I cracked a big chunk of the corner off!

Ill learn on the other side, may even have it cut buy Lowes (I heard they do that)

This was all done by a dremel, my jigsaw seemed to be too harsh and crack another panel.

Ill grab another panel later, but run with this for a while.

Plexiglass cracks way too easy, Lexan is a much better choice. Lexan cuts with a Skilsaw or Jigsaw without cracking. A thin strip of Lexan can be tied into a knot and won't break. Downside is that it's about 70% more expensive.

Plexiglass door panels will shatter in an accident and worse case cut you up pretty bad, please use lexan, it's much safer.

Glad I saw this... I was just thinking the other day how heavy my doors are on my car. Now I can gut my new ones to something like this. Very cool.
