Default Atlanta Motorsports Park

Here's a message from Hooked on Driving about AMP:

I toured the track at Atlanta Motorsports Park in Dawsonville, GA. with General Manager Jeremy Porter last Friday Feb. 17. I want to bring you up to speed on the significant progress:
1.The track will be 100% paved by today along with Pit road by weeks end.
2. The bridge is in place with re-bar, forms in place and ready for the concrete to be poured on Wed. or if rain on Thursday. This is the last piece of the track surface for 100% completion.
3. Crews were hard at work completing the de-brie fencing and guardrails. This work is not affected by weather and is moving quickly.
4. First phase of garages is complete and they look great.
5. Control tower is a modular three story structure on site that will be in place in the next week by crane.
6. Tire walls are being placed as the guard rails get completed and a good size crew is working on all of this. Total time to complete the tire walls will be about 4-5 days.

To see pictures go to http://www.facebook.com/atlantamotorsportspark

You could see in some holes or caterpillar tracks away from the track standing water from recent rain not affecting the track. There was no water on the track or running across. Jeremy pointed out various drainage pipes that have been strategically placed away from and under the track to eliminate this issue.

All in all, our HOD HPDE event at AMP for March 31 & April 1 looks like a go! For details and registration go to http://www.hookedondriving.com/event...31_and_April_1 We will have a 100% refund or full credit policy if we don’t make it but get ready for what will be an unforgettable track to drive! As the word gets out on their opening, this event at this new FIA complient track will fill up fast.

For more information contact dauer@hookedondriving.com

I'm signed up for the March 31 - April 1 event.

Hmmmm, I may have to see if they need instructors for this one.
Be the perfect break in for the new motor . . . . . . .
Then I'd have a couple weeks to get the dyno and TT inspection.

hmmmmmm

I thought it might be declining dairy products in one's diet if lactose intolerant.

They really are moving at super speeds, we went by in December and no one thought summer let alone late winter/ early spring. Still seems far fetched for March 31 though. Hope I'm wrong though, would like to see some video of the track. Will certainly drive up to watch.

Google/bing search for atlanta motorsports park should get you the home page for AMP. They have quite a few renderings there.

I've seen the model, it will be a fun track - runs counter-clockwise!
