Ferrari unveils its fastest street car yet: The F12
Ferrri's newest supercar will be named the F12, rather than the 620 as widely reported.

Gorgeous car!!!!
I love the V12, front engined, rear wheel drive Ferraris!!!
The new F12 has 740 hp, and at 3362 weighs just about exactly the same as the ZR1.
Butt....at a cost of what will probably be more than $350,000 I won't be getting one!
I like my Vette - I can work on it myself.
Of course you can work on an F-car yourself, but on a new one you're courting with warranty voiding issues.
The cost of ownership of a Ferrari can be very high. Parts are VERY expensive, and regular maintenance can be very expensive as well. I believe maintenance service is required at something like every 15K miles/3 years, and will generally cost around $6-8,000!!
It's just a lot more expensive car to own and maintain than a Vette.
Here's some info from a site about ownership of exotic cars:
And the clutch is something that you routinely replace at about every 10K-15K miles!?!?
One of our forum members had his Z06 in for service at about 110,000 miles and had the clutch replaced because the service guys recommended it. After it was replaced the old one was analyzed and looked like it could have gone many thousands more miles. He's got about 155,000 on the car now with nothing else major replaced. I think he told me he is on his 13th set of Goodyears!!
So....I'll stick with my Vettes.
However, the Ferrari.....WHAT A CAR!!!!

Most Ferrari owners will agree that maintaining a Ferrari can be one expensive task. One key item to consider is that the older the Ferrari model, the more expensive, the more it is to maintain. A typical oil change on a Ferrari F430 will run you $500, and about $800 for a Ferrari F360 Modena, or $1100 for a Ferrari F355. This typical oil change needs to occur every 5000 miles or once a year, since most owners don’t drive their cars 5000 miles a year. Other typical maintenance items include spark plugs at an average of $3000, belts every 15000 miles at an average of $4000 and finally the mother of all maintenance repairs the clutch which will be about $2500 for a 6 speed transmission and $6500 for the F-1 clutch. That makes the Ferrari one expensive machine to own but remember many owners will tell you that you shouldn’t own one if cost of ownership is something you must think of.

Safety Car
The newer Ferraris are pretty much normal cars. They have chain driven timing so the days of expensive "engine out" timing belt services are gone. Sure a clutch job will be pricey when/if you have to have one, but it's not periodic maintenance.

The Motor Trend website has a very informative article about this car. They have a bunch of photos, full specs and a couple of great videos of Ferraris F1 drivers taking the car around the Fiorano track. Well worth a look. http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...ta_first_look/ Unfortunately, I'm going to be about $400K short of being able to get one.

Maybe its cause I have small kids but I look at it and all I see is a little cartoon face like its from the Movie CARS. the side also looks a bit like the Hyundai Genesis ..not too much of a fan.
