Default Dedicated track wheels/tires

I want to pull the trigger on TSW Nurburgring 18x10.5 all the way around. I would like to run Nitto 05's 275/40/18 front and 305/35/18 rear. I am currently running CCW 505A 275/35/18 and 305/30/19 with C6 Z51 rotors n my 03 Coupe. Will I have wheel offset or Active handling issues?

Thank you.

When you are specing out the TSW wheels, make sure that they have at least the same backspacing as your stock wheels. They are available in several different configurations. Check the Nitto info for the tire diameters of the ones you want to run. To avoid active handling problems, the rear tires should be approximately 1" larger in diameter than the fronts.

Thank you. I just did the math. My tire sizes won't work.. I'll call CCW to see what offset I have now.

one of the few tire size combos that work on base C6 wheels is 265/35/18 front and 305/30/19. I'm running 275/35/18 front and 305/30/19 and have TC and AH issues on the track.

What are the TC and AH issues you have experienced?

With the 275/305 combo, the difference in tire diameter is 0.7". The car is expecting 1.2". This means that the ar thinks the rear wheels are spinning faster than they should be due to the "smaller" diameter. Even with Comp mode on, at a certain point (for me about 90mph), the car's computer says enough and will activate TC/AH. It will cut throttle and possibly drag the rear brakes in its attempt to "correct" the car.

Does that help?

From my research, the 265/305 combo will work better. This will provide a 1.0" difference in diameter vs. the expected 1.2" difference. Good luck in whatever you choose.

You guys are playing with fire running cast or rotary forged Chinese wheels on the track with R compound tires.

The stock GM wheels fall into this category? If so, what is an inexpensive option for the track?

Stock GM are forged therefore they are the inexpensive option. That being said, the tires the OP is planning on running aren't anywhere close to R Compounds.

Not sure what you're talking about. The c5z wheels are cast starting in 2002. The rotory forged should be stronger.

Good point. Forgot they switched. Ironically enough, IIRC the cast Z06 wheels are supposedly stronger than the forged ones.

Yeah. The car companies are like the Government.....they tell us what ever they think we want to hear. Lol.
