In-Car Video, Cal Club/SCCA National Race at WSIR - 2/25/2012
For those of you stuck in the snow and other inclement weather and after having you guys bug me for these and making you wait way too long...

I really enjoyed this race last Saturday while it lasted. It was a pleasure to watch Kyle Kelley's car control skills at work. Congrats to Chuck Mathews for his win.
The notable time markers on this video are minutes 7:00 when we begin to lap traffic with the high points of racing adrenaline kicking in at around 10:30 and 12:50. At 14:30 I conclude Kyle's tires are sufficiently baked and plan to go around him. Right at the end, minute 14:00, the race between Chuck and I for the lead is about to intensify when the yellow flag comes out.

Thanks, I thought I was running a smart race until the standing yellow flag came out... then I felt stupid.
Yes, WSIR is very light on brakes. Although we average 103 MPH on fast laps, we don't use the brakes very often. Two of the heaviest slowing zones are also uphill making it even easier of pads and rotors. I bet I could do 10 races there on one set of pads and still have a good amount left over. Conversely, at ACS or Road America I can just about burn through a set of pads in a 40 minute session.

OLi and crew are amazing to watch. Kyle who finally killed his tires in this video, took home two track records in t1 and gt1 this weekend. Bill who never have seen WSIR had a podium finish. Omg...the talent in socal t1 is amazing.

Thanks Carl, but you know it is really that shot of nitrous down the front straight from our fake fire-bottles helps a lot.
