I dont have an internet company that provides espn3. Is the race somewhere online? I could have sworn alms.com had free streaming from cockpit views as well. Was i dreaming?

they did before ESPN3 I believe. I'll be watching on ESPN3 personally, some live, some later. Qualifying is listed for 3:15 Friday on ESPN3.
I think Justin.TV re-broadcasts the stream.

ALMS seems to make streaming available to everyone at some point after the race is over. I'll just delay and watch it later. I'll be at the track this weekend anyway.

I agree, but the race is important to me, so I'll lug my laptop down and plug it in (I watch while I exercise). It's not convenient, but it's just the way it is.

ESPN3 is the ONLY way to watch it. ALMS discontinued their online broadcasting package. You can watch it through an internet ready TV, receiver, DVD player, X-Box or laptop. Big problem is you can't record it, so unless your committed to watching all 12 hours, you will miss what you don't see live. That SUCKS!
And of course my wife has her cousins coming in from Italy this afternoon. So even though I have all the equipment, I won't be able to watch it as I will be entertaining.

Find a free VPN or subscribe to a VPN in Canada (maybe $35 for a year) that will give you a Canadian IP address. Then you should be able to watch on ALMS.com as if you were not in the U.S.

what time is it on? I'll be watching in China...no big deal, I'm already up all night watching the basketball tourney. Tomorrow starts at 9:20 am for the MSU game, then green beer all day, I have to make it until 2:45 am to watch the OSU game...

with most of the comments above, which is why I posted up a week or so ago asking if they had the same "non-coverage" again this year - the answer is yes (ok they added a couple of races to the TV coverage this year - too little too late IMO). I love the series but I am not going to go out and buy a new TV or XBOX etc., or a new huge monitor to stream it on my computer, which is indeed a PITA.

My computer is connected to the tv for the Saturday coverage, but Ill also record the short version coverage on ABC the following day.
Take note that some races wont have the short version back-up on ABC.
The web based coverage is total crap. Less crap if it was possible to record it and watch it at convenience like dvr.

You're going to be there long enough...give in and adjust too their schedule. The key is stay up all night before you catch the flight home. Then sleep on the plane. When you land in the states it is morning and you are almost instantly back in this time zone. It does feel like you have a hang-over but it's gone after day 2 back in the states.
