Default NASA Autobahn April 21-22

Wow, 8 entries for ST2 for next week and I know of one more that might come bringing it to 9. One more beyond that and it will equal the STO entries for last years SCCA Runoffs!

We did lose Jim McKamey to ST2R as a result of the rules, which is a bummer and not sure who else.

Anyone know anything about the Miata that is registered in our class?

Shortthrow, are you going to come play again. Rory's car is fairly similar in set up to yours! I will cover your tow expenses!

Nice field! Maybe next year I can run a race or two with you guys... looks like a stout field for sure.

Why does it seem like all the clubs race on the same weekends? I'm doing a driver's school on the 21st at Blackhawk Farms.

I'll be there as a rookie in HPDE 1. Looking forward to learning and watching the other classes as well!

Cool, might have some wet conditions, which is a great for what you're doing!

Feel free to stop by and see us at the Corvette Sports paddock. You can see the #421 Rescue Pet Motorsports Corvette before and after it's back to back wins this weekend!

Hopefully every bodies weekend went well. A couple minor issues kept us from showing up...

Yikes and bummer, really missed having you out. Geff didn't make it either, Ryan Winchester's Mustang was broke before it was taken off the trailer. So I think we had 6 starters on Saturday... I had a pretty intense battle with Greg Vanucci in his Lotus, but was able to pull away and take the win on Saturday and much more importantly, Rory Alsberg took 2nd in his maiden wheel to wheel race, giving Corvette Sports and 1, 2 finish to start the season off!

Sunday qualified 3rd overall, first in ST2... P2 by turn 2, then battled Jim McAmey (sp) (black C5 coupe with crazy aero) for the overall for a few laps, running side by side and nose to tail. He was out of class, but I was desparate to get some time between Vanucci in 2nd. Jim spun while behind me and I slowly opened a gap over Greg. Along the way I did have contact with a sports racer, that was trying to pass me and I simply didn't see him there. I thought he was on the other side of me.. those cars are so low and I hate racing with them. The incident is under investigation and could result in a DQ, which would ruin my win in class and overall. I need to check out the video and submit it to plead my case.

By Sunday, there was only 3 ST2 cars still running, the other AWD Japanese cars all broke I think. Vanucci tried many times to break his Lotus, but miraculously always made it back out. A couple of offs (one involving contact with a wall) and one of his lug nuts came loose during the race on Saturday and he was lucky not to lose a wheel.

JEPopp was looking good out there in his MSM C6, good to meet you and hope you had a blast!

Had a C6 ZR1 out there that I hadn't seen before as well in HPDE I think.

Saturday, was cooler, but comfortable, Sunday it was sunny but the wind made it pretty bitter...

PS - ran a 1.30.2 on Sunday, which would have been track record if Greg hadn't reset it Saturday with a 1.30.1! Greg and his Lotus held the record from last year at a 1.31.2...

Nice job Alex,

Wished I could have joined you but the eyes are healing slower than I'd like. Running against low cars like the a Sports Racer or Radical is never safe, not to mention the weight disparity should hard contact ever happen, I'm not a fan running with them either.

Nice lap times. The Porsche Cup cars only run a few seconds faster.

Great video Jim and even better driving. I can not believe how well your car drives. Watching your video is like playing mine in fast forward. You sure got that car hooked up.

Alex, the video link that you posted does not work.

We will not be at Putnam, but if I am planning on being at Gingerman.
