April 15th Wounded Warriors Charit Autocross
The 3rd Annual Charity autocross benefiting the Wounded Warriors Foundation was a good success. This took place at Grissom Aeroplex in Peru, IN There were about 40 entrants both days. Unfortunately, it started raining half way through the day on Saturday, but stayed dry on Sunday. Hopefully this will be put on next year again.
Here is a video from Sunday. I forgot to tape over the mic on the camera so there is a lot of wind noise. This was my best run at 53.1. I would have got down into the 52s if i didn't bobble through the right hander down at the far end. I was the 3rd fastest car on Saturday before the rain and the 5th fastest car on Sunday.
Car: 73 vette with fiberglass rear spring, 550lb front springs, KYB gas-a-jsut shocks, hooker headers & sidepipes, Continental grand am slicks 275/45R17.

If you like the course you see and want to join us out at Grissom again, look at our schedule at http://www.indianaregion.org/ We will be out there three more times this year.

I usually just put a piece of painters tape across the mic. It works very well. I am using a Kodak Zi8 on a suction cup mount on the rear window. I have the camera set to 720p at 60fps.
Here is a video from last year with the tape over the mic. This is even a faster course than this last weekend, but there is considerably less noise.

I am thinking of getting an external mic and mounting it down inside the rear compartment. That will take care of he wind noise, but i hope it doesn't take away any more of the exhaust noise.
