R-compound tires.
Is it true that besides the Hoosiers, there are no r-compounds in my size? (275/35/18, 325/30/19) . Tire rack is showing no options.
I'd like a set of tires for my hpde and autox events but don't want a full slick like the Hoosiers.
What are my options?
Can I go to a 285/35/18 and 345/30/19? That way I can get nittos.
Thanks, car is a 2012 gs.

Is there a certain tolerance that you should be at in regards to the Oem .959 ratio?
And can 345s fit on my gs rims without doing any modifications to them?

WRT the fit of the 345/30-19's, I had no problem with R6's in this size.

You can find front scrubs fairly easy but the rears you might have to buy new. If you find something that works let me know....

It looks as if the cup tires in the 285/35 18 and 345/30 19 may work and seem to be my only option without going to Hoosiers. I have nothing against Hoosiers but from a learning perspective I have heard they are not a good tire.

If your goal is to learn, then stay on street tires until you are ready to move to Hoosiers. I would say once you have spent a successful season in Intermediate, you are ready to move up. Most folks run 295/18F and 345/19R. I run the 285 in the front personally.

For the first two years, I ran the OEM F1 tires. You can buy these fairly cheap and they make a good tire to learn on. They can get as hard as bricks after a bunch of heat cycles but up until then, they are a good learning tire and not hard on the budget.
