Hate to post tire question, but all I know is A6 & 710.
I am wasting a lot of time on Tire Rack trying to find street/track tires.
It seems a lot of the popular tires stop at size 18x275 and I don't favor small tires.
So, if you can help out here's what's needed.
17 front & 18 rear (stock rims c5z) Front at least 275/285 rear at least 315/325.
Pricing 250-350 corner.
Tread wear under 200.
Just the short list on who makes the big sizes at a good price point, maybe only one or two have them.
I tried Sumi HTRZIII and they were ok but lacked grip the Tire Wear rating was 300.
Appreciate any help as I think some of you guys use these style tires all the time & not the slick.
I just want to mount some on an extra set of rims to do a track day now & then between autox.

I used the NT05s on my C6Z. I got 26 track days, some autocrosses and some street miles on them so wear is excellent. They tend to get greasy at the end of a 20 minute session, squeal like stuck pigs and actually smell like horse manure. If you get them don't expect the wife to let you park the car in the garage or to store the tires in the garage. Mine still had tread on them (although the fronts got an unusual wear pattern on the edges of the middle stripes) when they just heat cycled out and had pretty close to zero traction when I did my last autocross.

I saw that also, on some of these tires you have to watch the overall height (too tall) and also front/rear height (fronts taller than rear)
That front is 26" tall (yikes) and rear is 25.5" tall.
Thanks guys.

I checked out the Nitto selection & have a question about NT01 vs NT05.
Sizes are pretty comparable TW is 100 for 01 and 200 for 05 so I assume the 01 has more grip & less life.
Is anyone trying the 01 at the expense of less life? Is the 05 just a better "value" because it lasts longer?

My understanding is that the NT05 is a trackable steet tire (my experience as well), and that the NT01 and NT555RII are intended to be track only tires - so they're going to wear faster than the 05's. I'm looking at the 555RII's as a candidate for my dry track-only tires and keeping the 05's for getting to/from the track & for wet races. I'm also looking at the Toyo R888's and Hoosier R6's.

Hey Bob, FYI...SCCA just floated a proposal for all street tires to have a tread wear rating over 200. I doubt it will pass, and it won't take effect until 2013 if it does pass, but you may want to be aware of the proposal...
Have fun!

Michelin PS2's have 275/17 and 315/18 sizes and are just above 200 tread wear. I know those are very popular.
