C6Z Autocross Tire Sizing info needed...
Hello all...
Currently have a C6Z, has 19/20's on it, been using those for AX, I have a set of stock C6Z wheels 18/19's
Should I buy a set of A6's for the 18/19 combo? if so, what sizing would you recommend
I'll probably be hitting 6-8 events this year, just tired of babying the car around on street tires..
thanks for any input you can offer!
Thanks!
Nick

Cost effective would be to use the 18/19 combo. 295's on the front and 345's on the back.

I have heard great things about the new Michelin Cup ZP tires for the zr1/z07 19/20 inch set up.. Supposed to be a new compound than the old CUP tires (18/19 non ZP) and way faster...

I dare you to compare.... Don't want to start a battle, but would be interesting to compare A6 and the new CUP ZP 19/20
The new 19/20 CUP ZP tire is very new on the market, and a very different compound than the older CUP tire...
I know tire tests were done between the old cup tire and R6, times were the same, and the 19/20 cup ZP setup was several seconds a lap faster than both of these tires. (all tests were done on the same car, same day, same track etc...)

Maybe, but the R6 also sucks for autocross. They don't get enough heat fast enough and don't get sticky enough. If the OP was looking to do track days, maybe there would be an option. However, for autocross, it's a different world.

Pulling the sidewalls in that tight will cause crowning. I'm willing to bet that if you tested the contact patches, you'd find that the 295 has more contact - for less money.

+1 on that... While i don't run a C6, just as Al pointed out, the top C6Z and GS guys are running them with no issues.
Hell, last year we had a guy in a C5Z running the 315s up front and 335s in the rear ( on the OEM 10.5 rear wheel ).
I would suggest if you DO run the big tire that you upgrade the front bar and endlinks. It will help quite a bit as well. Al, you agree on that?
