Default Indy 500

Not Corvette racing, and they don't know how to turn left and right, but I'm taking my family this year.
We have rooms and tickets but I was wondering if anyone has any suggestions on race day?
We are planning on bringing a couple of small rolling coolers.

Indy 500 is the first non-road course race of the season! LOL

yep,big tribute to Dan. It's going to be an emotional day.
We are in the Paddock, midway, 6 rows up. Should be fun.

My dad and I will be in turn 4 about half way up. We were heading out and were at the bottom of the stands when the leader, Hildebrand, hit the wall right in front of us last year.

If you have never been there, go through the museum. Lot's of 500 history in there. Zora Duntov's Corvette SS race car is in there also. Chevy usually takes up the parking lot just outside the museum entrance. Sign up to get free t-shirt, hats, or whatever they are giving away this year.

If you get into the track early enough, you are able to walk across the track at the end of pit road. You can actually touch the surface and look at the grinding they did quite a few years ago now. You may even be able to take a picture of the family with the wing and wheel logo on the outside wall.

Although it isn't as many as the Brickyard 400, visit the vendors outside the track along 16th and Georgetown roads. Lot's of memorabilia and other stuff with some of it at great prices. Dad and I usually get breakfast from a vendor setup just outside the turn 4 entrance. Good biscuits and gravy!

Oh and by the way, some of the cars are at least Chevy powered. And as TLGunman said, up until the 500, they have only run road course races. Indy is the first oval on the schedule.

Yep, and the field is made up almost entirely of some of the best drivers in the world from every road racing background possible.

It will be sad not seeing Dan there...going to be tough for his wife Susie filling in for the past winner.

Go RHR!!
