Update to "Best Rollbars" -- NHRA LEGAL
Updated with photos to a previous much more civil thread on the C6 forced induction forum. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-f...-rollbars.html
This post is not meant for the elite who road race and are not competitive, lack the power or skills, or legally equipped to venture down a 1/4 mile track. For those whom this information may not apply, please move on, as there is nothing here for you to see.
But Yes! This is for anyone on this forum who also runs quick enough at the dragstrip to require a rollbar. Many auto-x cars run both types of racing, as they have not restricted themselves to only one segment of the racing sport, nor being used as a DD or weekend cruiser.
The first two photos show the bolt/weld attachment method to the frame.
The NHRA rulebook states "All vehicles with OEM frame must have roll bar welded or bolted to frame".
To my most recent knowledge, this rollbar is the ONLY one that conforms to the rules.
Regardless of claims by other manufacturers, if it doesn't attach to the frame, it's not legal.
This photo was taken during the initial test fitting and before welding was complete.
The insulation you see is from Exoticvette and installed 4 years ago.
Photo is from the hatch side. Mufflers restricted a bottomside view.
The frame is visible on the lower right side of the opening.
Minimal intrusion/evidence when the rollbar is removed.
Both seats have full travel with the rollbar in or out.
The following series of photos have a timestamp to illustrate the time needed to remove and re-install.
In at 17:44
Out at 17:53. Wow! Only 9 minutes with rear flaps down and seats in driving position.
Back in again in 14 minutes. Quicker than a tire swap.
Call 480-283-7334 to order the best and only NHRA *LEGAL* C6 rollbars.

Some people never learn. COMMENTS LIKE YOU ARE MAKING WILL NOT HELP YOU.
While this may or may not be safer than a car in stock form, because it has been modified, it is subject to higher scrutiny. Someone with it installed may not even be allowed to run at an autocross.
Congratulations on your product, but if it is a drag frame, it needs to be in the drag section.

Melting Slicks
I read the other thread, and now this one, and out of curiosity why are you guys getting so excited? Is the word "best" the problem? Maybe he should say "chassis stiffener". I just see a guy making a product that we can buy or not depending on our needs.
