Viper Cup Round 3 Lap 1
Hey guys,
I wanted to share with you the first 3/4 of lap 1 from Round 3 of the 2012 SRT Viper Cup. This is from Jeff Courtney's in-car camera...

I think the video is pretty spectacular...(and yes, that's is me in the "subject" car).

OUCH very grim. How did you come out. That is a very dangerous combo of impacts, a big hit then a series of hits to cause broken parts (like bones) to flail around. Have you had the opportunity to analise systems that helped and systems that let you down?

WOW.
...been there done that...
Watched it twice and got a sick feeling....had to turn it off. Funny thing is, I feel less watching my own horrific video. I hope that everything is alright with you! I know....over a year later....I am JUST getting over mine, and wish that on nobody. Best of luck to you and yours!!!

David, glad you're okay.
The pictures you posted really show the punishment the car took, a testament to your cage!
That a better idea than you may realize.
Many people think if they aren't racing the danger is much lower of a wreck just doing HPDEs. Car to car contact yes, but not necessarily finding danger by oneself.
There are too many things that can happen -- debris on track, fluid, engine failure, brakes, etc... The Armco/wall isn't discrimatory as to which venue you're running in when you hit it.

That is a horrific crash! I'm glad you are ok!! The video looks terrible but the pictures look like it might be fixable? The important thing is you walked away.
