Default Transmission cooler recommendation

I am considering one and am looking for recommendations. I added the DeWitts rad with both EOC and TOC but a tranny seal leak caused trans temps go up 20-40 degrees while coolant and oil went down 30 and 20 degrees respectively. Saw DRM cooler for $1,300 before install but would prefer something less expensive. Any ideas?

Car is a 2010 GS, A6, Kumho XS tires, no R-compounds or slicks in the future as car is also a DD. Have ordered Amsoil ATF and some header type wrap for the lines. Fixing seal and adding better fluid and shielding will likely do the trick but considering cooler as well because I want to do this only once.

Thanks,
Terry O'

Try a Hayden stacked plate and bypass the radiator. No need to do anything else unless it runs too cool. Anywhere in the 150 to 200 degree range is good.

What type of drop in temps did you experience/expect with the addition of the cooler? On track, my trans temps maxed out last year on average @ ~ 235.

Might double check your price here-- that price looks more like both the trans AND diff coolers. Randy @ DRM is a great guy to talk to by phone if you want more guidance on cooling.

Mine is an Auto. Z51 so no oil cooler or trans cooler from the factory, just a pwr steering cooler. The brocure didn't tell that. Kind of bummed that I paid extra for the A6 and lost all the extra cooling
for that much money it should have had Diff cooler, trans cooler and engine cooler !

I am in the process of adding a 25-plate Setrab cooler. I will be bypassing the internal radiator cooler.

I received the remainder of the plumbing parts yesterday. I can complete the install this weekend.

Bought many things from Randy over the years - always been satisfied.
