I just ran VIR this weekend with NARRA and lived. AC in the trailer, lots of EZ-ups, and lots of water make it tolerable. Oh... and my FAST cool-shirt is worth it's weight in gold.
If not July then come in October I'll be racing ST2 that weekend

Safety Car
All of the other events that I've gone to this year have been well-attended.
Nobody likes Pocono (long straights are boring for the slow cars) - I expect better turnouts once the infield and especially the oval/infield transitions are fixed.
The races are fun to watch b/c you can see PJ passing everyone on the outside of Nascar T1!

Track was better when it was rough and had the bump at the tunnel turn. I used to watch most cars drop back because of the bump in the mirror. South course is the toughest on a car at Pocono. Have have not seen it run in a long while. I like the high speed banking, tunnel turn and tight turn into the infield. Even coming out of the infield is great. There used to be a big bump coming out to the front straight. Was looking to run there this year but personal problems took me out.

PJ and I run CCW the exact same and ran 1:31 - 1:32 last year
When we enter the front stretch we floor it and never lift until we brake to go into devil's elbow.
I was there a few weeks ago just doing a shake down and running at about 80% - 85% and ran low 1:32 laps for 5 laps straight.
This weekend I expect PJ and I will see possible sub 1:30's.
We both have ST2 cars. His is a C6 with an LS3 detuned and I have a C5 with an LS1 both under 350rwhp. We both have aero.

In a car with no aero, 359 approx hp, 3250 lbs. with driver on 275's, is that turn on the far right ("the first turn"), a no lift turn? i'll find out soon enough but just curious what you think.

The "turn on the far right" is NASCAR Turn 1.
Yes you should be able to take that turn flat without braking or lifting.
We used to do it in our DE cars with no aero and 285 NT-05 street tires and a passenger. I know 3 guys for sure who take turn 1 without lifting or braking with no aero and on street tires. One has a C6 and the other two are C5's, ones a Z06 and the other is an FRC.
I'm pretty sure one of them will be there if you want to go for a ride to see that it can be done.
Oh, and this was back before they repaved the track!
It takes a bit to get the confidence to try it but once you have done it a few times it doesn't get any easier but then you know it will stick.
The next step is getting used to driving around all the slow guys while you still have it floored and are in the middle of the corner.
