Coolers on a c6 car being used 60% for track days
Guys need some suggestions I have a 2007 c6 with the ls2 tuned, headers, cats, z06 brakes, track suspension, oil coolers, power steering cooler, brake coolers, baffles in oil pan. I can run with z06 and gt3 no problem. My issue is rear diff over heating and concerned with transmissions i am running oversized tires 275/35/18 up front 305/35/18 in the rear . Anyone know of an economical solution for coolers on the diff and trans. I stopped running slicks until I can figure out a solution. They seem ok on the r888 for the short term.

Trans and Diff coolers from DRM (Doug Rippe Motorsports) at $650 each. I needed both, but you can try the diff alone first. I am very pleased with them. You need a modicum of fabrication skills to install them. I used 3/4" x 1/8" steel plate from the hardware store to fabricate the mounts needed. I ran fused wires from the fuse box down each rocker panel to the pumps.
There isn't anything cheaper that works - you must get the hot fluid out of the case. I tried insulating my pipes with exhaust tape and various Redline fluids - didn't cure the awful noise that my diff began making when hot, nor did it stop the trans overheat warning.
Now I can run hard continuosly in 95F heat until the tank runs dry without any overheating.

DIY man!
Grab a few pumps, Some fittings, 10-12' of AN line, and some coolers and PRESTO! for 500-800 you could have some serious cooling on your track car.

Used NASCAR parts are also an extremely good value.

What do the tires have to do with anything? I've been racing my car for 2 years now w/o a trans or diff cooler. Yes I need a trans cooler, but I don't see how running different tires will affect things? FWIW I run Amsoil synthetic ATF in the trans and Amsoil Severe Gear 75w110 in the diff.
