Default Installation of Pfadt Camber Plates

For those of you who installed these plates on a C6Z how did you get the front LCA stock cam bolts out? I have one bolt on the left side that is hitting the catalytic convertor and it still has a way to come out. Should I just cut it off? On the other side the same bolt looks like it is going to hit the oil lines going to the oil reservoir. There may be a little play in the lines but it does look close. I don't have a way to lift the engine to try and get some extra room.

IIRC I cut once of mine off on my c5 because it was hitting something. I was never going to use them again, so 30sec with a cutting wheel and it was out.

But I'd call pfadt and see what they say if you want to keep that bolt.

Basically they say consider the bolts a throw away but I like to keep things like that around so when I retire the car I can throw the stock stuff back in it and sell performance parts separately.

I have the car on a mid rise scissors lift and can't get to the rear cat bolts or I would loosen the cat enough to move it a fraction of an inch. Other side may be a lot tougher since the oil lines will have to be disconnected if I have to cut that bolt.

Best way to do it might be suspending the motor and dropping the cradle a little.

Or, just buy a set of camber bolts in the c6 section from here and toss them in when you are converting the car back before you sell it.

On the oil line side I was able to remove the part holding the
oil line in place and pushing the hoses over enough to get the
bolt out. On the cat side, I just put a punch in the hole and pounded
the bolt out, if you turn the eccentric to gain the most clearance
back.

They are a PITA to install the plates as it was hard for me to move
the a arm in enough to get the plate to lie flat between those two
raised areas I turned them in as far as possible before removing the
old bolt and eccentric washers/

Funny how things work. I took some time to eat dinner and went back into the garage and chose a smaller pry bar with a different curve on it that seemed to grab the control arm differently. I was able to pull the LCA inward with that bar and the bolt that was hitting the cat and giving me all the grief was moved inward enough to clear the cat and wiggled right out using my fingers. Did the same on the side with the oil lines and was able to get that bolt out without dropping the lines. The Pfadt bolts went right in using the same method. Just have to find the right tool.

On my c5z I don't recall trouble getting the stock ones out but I got pretty creative with a bottle jack & pry bars.
