Default Getting more negative camber on a 2005 C6 Z51. There aren’t 4 washers on upper arms?

There are many posts on the forum that go through the process of changing alignment settings from street to track by removing/adding washers from the upper arms and then turning the tie rods to adjust the toe. In fact, I watched someone do it to his C6Z at my last event. Removing each washer is supposed to give you .4 degrees of negative camber.

I planned on doing this to my 2005 Z51 C6 but when I took off my front wheel, I noticed that there aren’t 4 washers on the upper arms. There is only 1 washer per bolt (see photos below).

I suppose I could take this one washer out but it won’t give me the -2.7 of negative camber I’m looking for up front.

Have any C6 owners seen this? Are the 05s different for some reason? Do I have any other options for getting more negative camber up front?

Thanks in advance!

Mine had 1 washer per bolt on one side of the control arm and 2 washers on the other.

That is why you use a camber plate setup, the plates push out & lock the lower control arms then you add shims to the uppers

Have you turned the LCA cams to the max negative camber setting? Most shops only turn the cams and don't touch the washers unless they need to gain more camber.

The number of washers vary from car to car.

I was under the impression that the plates don't push out the lowers any farther than the max stock setting. Is that incorrect?

I'm at -1.7 in the front now at the max setting. I was hoping to get to -2.7. With only one washer up top, I can't see getting there. Am I missing something? I certainly hope so...

Thanks!

I never bothered with the stock eccentrics much so I don't know if they use up the entire slot, but with hardbar camber plates you can get over 3 degrees negative. They also have a notched plate which allows you to enlarge the slot a little for even more camber/track width. In the front I use the standard type with the outer most positioned holes on both sides and shim the uppers with washers to get what I need.

Thanks for the advice. I'll order a camber kit and hope it solves the problem.

I'm at -1.6 in front and my factory bolts are at the middle of the adjustment range. I haven't touched the washers.

camber plates are great, but not for street driving

Curious as to the drawbacks? If I reset my front camber back to a "street like" setting after track days, shouldn't it be the same?

Me too. I have used them on the street more so than the track and have no issues with them.

Just had an alignment done today. The most negative camber I could get out of the front with removing the one washer that was there on each arm was -2.2.

the reason youll get diff amounts of shims from side to the other has to do with the frame and subframe being lined up. In a perfect situation, they would be exactly the same side to side.

definitely get a camber plate kit - the pfadt ones can be found for less than 300 shipped through several vendors including rpi

not sure why au n egl says theyre not for the street - they do the same thing as the factory setup, but are more controllable and dont shift around. With all the damn bumps on the street, Id rather have the eccentrics locked in place instead of those pieces of junk the factory puts in.
