Stock LS1, added KN Filter and Removed cats, should I tune it or?
My stock LS1 has 112k mi on it, runs good but who knows how much life is really left as the car has been track only for the last 4k mi. It's got a K&N filter, and I removed the cats, but is otherwise completely stock. A few guys have told me I should have it tuned. What's involved? I'm leery about spending too much money on it. Any suggestions are appreciated.

If you plan to keep tracking it, what's involved is a short trip to ECS! I went up from Maryland shortly after I started HPDE. Doug will take your car for a spin and tune it with data from his drive. You want this to ensure that #7 and #8 cylinders are not running too lean on course. Emphasize HPDE to him and that you want something conservative to save the motor.

I'll go the other way,,,
OEM tunes are about as conservative as they get, but, even though it isn't a huge amount of money I don't think it is well spent if you only have a CAI and nothing else. There just isn't enough gain with no mods to warrant it. Wait until you at least have headers and CAI.
