Default GoPro audio advice?

Where are you guys mounting your camera to achieve the best audio? AC on/off, stereos off?
Dont have the new one, Pro2.
Any advice will be great.

I have the 'open' back on mine... I run autocrosses not track days, and have teh camera mounted on the inside of the rear window. I've run mine outside on the B pillar as well, but the audio gets crappy sometimes.

I don't have the 2 either.

Hope that helps a little.

Unfortunately, without a mic I haven't been too impressed with my GoPro sound. Inside the car on the harness bar or on the front windshield would be my best guess.

Nonwater proof housing on foolhardy is my setup but it will never be great audiowise. I often record with my smart phone at the sametime and use the phone audio.

Not many options with a GoPro1. I just use the open case.

With a GoPro2 you can get a spare case and drill a hole for the mic port, then put an external mic out of the wind.

I use the roll bar mount with waterproof backing which provides "decent" audio.

Here's mine.... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NxoKi...ature=youtu.be

I attach mine at the passenger window. GoPro 2 has an even wider angle, and from the right top corner of the passenger window, it pretty much captures the whole road and the driver.

I use a Flip HD camera, for $99 you can't beat it. Audio is great.

Has anyone tried taping a piece of foam over the mic hole on a GoPro?
