Where's the disclaimer -- do not try this at home, professional driver!

I call bs. The tunnel is quite bumpy, even going 50mph with C5Z suspension.

That's the first thing I thought of as well.

Reminds me of that stupid movie with Sylvester Stalone as an F1 driver.. but pretty cool if it was real.

Champ Car, actually.

Stallone wanted to do an F1 movie but Bernie took one look at the script and asked him to leave his office

Actually, I believe that the story was that Bernie wanted so much money for access that Stallone dropped the F1 idea and turned to Champ Car.

It's a movie that gives new meaning to the word "awful".

As for the "Red Bull in the Lincoln Tunnel" thing, I'd think that would be a huge PR thing that could be found all over the motoring press. But it's not. Draw your own conclusions.

I still think it is baloney - but the idea is cool enough that I'll give them some slack, even if the F1 track is a ways (in NYC terms) from the tunnel.

My tire trailer catches air numerous times in the tunnel. At ~50mph.

It would have been really cool if they showed it running the tunnel upside down, as it is theoretically could do thanks to the massive downforce.

Edit...well, if David C. says they did it, then I guess they did. I wish I knew which lane in the tunnel to take to avoid the bumps!

I stand corrected. Very cool, if a tad weird (but then so was dirt-tracking an F1 car in Austin )

I know the Red Bull car was in the city this week because I stopped next to it at a red light. it was on the back of a flatbed strapped down by the wheels. Coming out of the Lincoln Tunnel coincidently.

Kind of surreal seeing a champ car like that getting towed out in the open.

Baloney, it is not. Sounds unbelievable.
