Low Oil after HDPE
Just checking to see if this is normal. I did a 2 day HPDE event at Summit Point this past Thursday/Friday and today as I was coming home from a small errand my display says "Low Oil". I pull into the garage at home and right after shutting off the engine there is about 1/2" of oil on the dipstick. After it say for about 20 minutes it was a little blow "add". I plan on changing the oil tomorrow but wanted to see if that is normal oil use after two days of HPDE?

What was your oil starting point and how much did you loose ? Do you have a PCV catch can on the car and how much oil was in it ? Any signs of a leak or of oil on the exhaust tips. Depending on which track I run, I can use any where from 1/8 to 1/2 quart during a 2 day event. If you started out 1/2 qt over and were down below the fill mark in 2 days, that is excessive.

I check my oil level after each session.

Before the first session it was full, and I added about half a quart. I had checked my oil the first day a bit and did not notice it losing any, but did not check it the second day.
Car is bone stock. I did replace the PCV valve, and no oil catch can. Thinking about ordering one asap.
I did notice that the last time I changed out my oil pressure sensor that my intake had a fair amount of oil around the gaskets and even some oil in the valley under it.

The first time I drained my catch can was scary! Yeah, the engine eats a lot of oil on the track. That is the reason some people drain their catch cans at least twice a day at the track. I wouldn't worry about it. Nothing on the track relates to daily street driving. The manual even states more oil for track use.

Thanks everyone.
I just did an oil change and about 4 1/3 quarts came out. I only had 6 quarts on hand so filled it with all I had and the low oil level is still displaying. I hope another annoying sensor did not blow out.
About to order an oil catch can though still looking at the options out there. Leaning towards either Elite or CCW.
