Ive been working out a design to reduce drag and hopefully increase downforce.
The main issues Ive seen with designing something for the C6 are the front bumper design (its round and feeds air from the underside) and for the rear - the mufflers are very low.
Ive decided to just clean up the underside of the car using flat panels. This will not create the level of downforce that a proper diffuser setup would, but should help increase acceleration at higher speeds and potentially raise the top speed closer to my goal of 200 mph.
The panels Ive been making are flat sheets of 24oz heavy weave fiberglass with polyester resin and heavy duty aluminum foil backing (the foil was used to let the sheets release from the concrete floor I have been forming them on). Once I have settled on a final design I will cut out the sheets.
