Default Barber HPDE Oct 6 Sat. $275

About 20 spaces left from what I heard at the Tracks Unlimited HPDE at Barber on Sat OCt 6. they give 3.5 hours of drive time for $275. That is as cheap as I have heard for Barber. Anybody else gonna come? I registered at motorsportreg. Jerry

Weather looks to be just about perfect! An absolutely beautiful fall day at the track with friends and fast cars.

Everybody won't be fast. I am going!

Arte, I see your Bama dog. Reminds me of a story. A drunk comes into a bar and has a drink. Two guys are sitting close to him. He looks at one and says, A U B U R N! What does that mean?" The guy says, " Alabama Usually Beats Us Round November!" The drunk looks at the other guy and say, " U T" What does that mean?" Tha second goy says, "Us Too!"

My avatar is really for the benefit of a few in OT section. They really have a problem with Bama and I like to stir the pot a little for them. I am really a fan of many teams and different conferences. I have a friend that played for Cincy Bearcats. I was glad to see them with a good win last weekend. Looking forward to seeing all the guys/gals this weekend.

I missed the talk at BNA. I sure would like to hear you reminisce. I feel guilty consuming your time and picking your brain one on one.

It did not happen! I went through the turn 3 Armco out into a marsh with Marvin Panch! I was trying to forget that!

It was my fault!

Who creamed my buddy into turn 15 in his silver M3?

Glad both are ok, that could have been UGLY.

I never got the full story. I think someone spun, car behind couldn't avoid, I am not sure. Hope there is not much pain in getting the vehicles repaired.

Im told the M3 is a total. I guess the guy in the Vette thought he was time trialing? Thats a no pass zone right there unless you are in A group or an instructor(turn 14 or 14a). Or whichever one is at pit in.

I dont have all the facts yet, the driver of the M3 will call me tomorrow.

A T-bone does not result from a pass, usually the spin occurs first.

But, considering neither of us actually saw the incident, I suppose we should let those that saw it first hand comment if they desire. Attaining the facts may take more than just a phone call with your buddy.

i was going to go but had an owner's meeting for a condo in Orange Beach. cant believe there was another totaled car.. last time i was @ AMP somebody totaled there too. people are getting crazy with these HPDEs!

edit: thought i may know the car and owner, and sure enough i do. im so not getting in the middle of it, but everybody i know that was there is saying it was his (the corvette driver's) fault.

Lots of people, lots of laps. Everyone had a great time with great friends on a great track. A fender bender happens every now and then. After all, it is a track event. It is certainly not a given that one will get a scrape or two but one has to accept that it is a possibility. I feel much safer on the track than I do on the roads going home. At least everyone is paying attention, not texting or eating, everyone is going the same direction (generally) and the corner workers are keeping an eye on everyone. So far, the times I have been off track was my own exuberance with no one else involved. Get safety gear, modify car for safety and go have fun!

TracksUnlimited is as safe as any outfit out there. Well run by some fantastic people.
