Default BFG gForce R1S

Has anyone tried the new BFG gForce R1S in sizes 315/35/17 and 335/30/18 on OEM 9.5 and 10.5 wheels? I know Hooiser A6's will fit without rubbing but was curious if anyone has tried this tire?
Thanks in advance.

Did anyone ever try this to verify they squeeze on as well as the A6 does?

I emailed one of the BFG reps and he replied that they didn't recommend putting the 335 on a 10.5" wheel because the tire has a more square shoulder than the A6 and doesn't "over tire" as well.

But there is a 315/30/18 in the pipeline. He said it is in testing right now, so there is some hope. The tires run even a little wider than the A6 is my understanding, so the 275 might not be that bad on the front.

Thanks Dave. It's not to much the 275 that is the the worry, its the lack of rear options, 285 just seems pretty small.

You have to remember that BFG R1's run wide, really wide lol! If you take a look at the tread width of a 285/30/18 R1 you will note that it is listed as 11.3". Compare that to Hoosier A6/R6's and you will find that in order to get a comparable tread width from Hoosier you will be looking at a 315/30/18 which has 11.4" of tread width, so only 0.1" wider. You will also find that the tread with on a BFG 275 is the same as a Hoosier 295 fyi! So when comparing tires from different brands you really have to dig into the specs a little.

I see 11.4" 285 BFG vs 12.5" 315 Hoosier though the Hoosier was measured on a 1" wider wheel which is what brought me to ask about the bigger tires in the first place (11.3 vs 11.8 on the tread). Thanks anyway.

The 285 is too short anyway. Gotta wait for the 315.

Used them at TWS in NASA Event this weekend for the first time, they stick real well but quite a bit different than A-6s
I could turn in earlier but very hard to move the car around, honestly don't know which is quicker but requires different driving style.

These tires were all the talk at the event I went to this past weekend. They seem to be getting pretty good reviews. I'm not a hardcore player with these events, but there were many there that were. Just to clarify most everyone there was using them on 1st and 2nd gen F bodies and they were using 12" wide rims.

I just mounted R1 S 315/35/17 to 11.5" and 12" rims. I'll try them out this weekend. Autocross event.
