Default How many track days have your non R-compound tires lasted?

My Kumho XS tires seem to be done after 15 days (~1,550 track miles). They have at least another 2,000 street miles going to and from various tracks.

Thanks.

NT05s went 26 track days and several autocrosses. The autocross after the 26th track day it felt like I was driving on ice so I replaced them although they still had at least 2/32 tread left.

similar experience with Michelin Pilot Sports, still have tread but they are like driving on ice and will have to be replaced.

Tire performance is reduced with each heat cycle!

I'm the test mule for the Cooper Zeon RS3-S. 300 wear rating 4 track days and counting.
Had FS wide oval RFT 8 track days 15000+ road miles. Would've keep running them but RR tire ended up getting 3 punctures.

What is the criteria for "life"? Cords? Bald? Hard?

Objective such as tread depth, mileage, heat cycles, etc or subjective such as hard, handling, traction. Either one of these works for me. I am trying to get a sense for the typical lifespan on the Kumho XS', Nitto NT05s etc, to make a decision about the next set. I like the XS' a lot but if 15 days are typical and I can get 25+ from higher wear rated rubber like the Mich Super Sports (don't know that either - a topic for another post I guess), I might be persuaded to change.

You're going to chew up any tire in 15 track days. The most economical route is a dedicated set of wheel with cast off race rubber. Scrubs are cheap, most people just want them out of their shop.

Kumho XS 8 track days & about 20,000 street miles
Bridgestone RE-11 8 track days & 6,000 street miles so far

It's looking like street tires last about the same as slicks on the track

cost looks comparable
