Anyone know why ALMS and Grand AM are no longer running at Miller Motorsports Park last year or two?

ALMS has a close relationship with the FIA. They are not going to run an event in conflict with Lemans. How are you giong to score points when the best teams arent there? Besides ALMS fields were already small. They couldnt afford to have a race while missing Corvette Racing, Flying Lizards and many other DRIVERS who participate in the race as well.

you cant take 2 or 3 of the most popular teams and expect a race to be a success. Corvette Racing is by far the most popular team and a huge draw.

I kinda wish they would go ahead and make the change now. I am tired of trying to support ALMS with the **** coverage.
Wish Atherton would just say that he realizes the media deal absolutely sux and has from the start; it was just the best they could do.

my guess is Miller isnt very scenic for the coverage... weird to get bearings on what part of the track folks are on...

It ran every year since the Park opened untill last year. Couldn't come to agreement on cost with ALMS is what I heard, low turn out made it a loss for the track. Short sighted IMO, but I don't have to pay the bills there and just miss the race as for scenery thats opinion also, but I get it about watching the race on tv If you don't know the track there is not many reference points.

thats what i meant... the area is beautiful... its just tought to ref. the track location .. no much going on immediately adjacent to the track.. unlike road atl or rd america, watkins glen, etc..
