So I take it this wasn't really a drifting event?! Bummer, I was hopeful someone would start a thread about drifting... Thinking that might be my only home if our C6 doesn't sell!

Summit Point is correct and it was not an event.......just a bunch of guys getting together to have some fun sliding sidways.

I'm in corvette drift crew. My car doesn't fit in any race classes that have any competition or is competitive. Drifting it is. More fun anyways.

I got to play with the Vette this past weekend at the first drift event held in our area in conjuction with one of the SCCA regions. Awesome time, can't wait till the spring when I can show up with some spare tires to thrash and not have to drive home 145 miles!

I am hoping to rent the skidpad before the weather is too cold. I will post if that happens. The more people that share the experience, the cheaper it is for all.

The big deal is that with a skidpad you don't destroy your tires or strain your drivetrain,.....because it is wet. (the facility has built in sprayers to allow low traction conditions on demand)

I've been on that skid pad. It was a FATT (friday at the track) and the instructor controlled the gas pedal. Kinda crazy,

I have also done the FATT (so you can be on the track without an instructor) and a couple other track or private events.

I like Summit Point,.......good track and not overpopulated.

Thats a big skid pad - is that over by the Jefferson circuit? I've been on the one at Shenandoah many times but its a lot smaller than that.

It is about as much fun as you can have a car without the presence of a member of the opposite sex.
