Default Dinner with Doug Feehan

The Simone Auto Museum had a tribute to Corvette Racing legends this past weekend. They had a dinner on Friday night with Doug Feehan and then a presentation on Saturday of historic Corvette race cars. They had a C6R on site as well as a mid 60's Grand Sport, C6R engine and a rolling ZR1 Chassis.

There was a presentation by Doug on the Corvette racing program, with a focus on their efforts at Le Mans.

We had a QA session with Doug and it really focused around the upcoming C7 and what that car would be like. While of course he wasn't going to release any critical information, he did state a couple important facts. He stated that the C7 will be noticeably lighter than the C6. He said it will be faster, lighter and better handling. He also said for sure there will be no more 7 liter going forward. Also, Corvette racing program wil continue as planned and they will debut a C7R in 2014.

Someone asked Doug if Corvette ever planned on releasing a Z06X or a lightened down version of the Corvette for off-road track use, and he said that was definately on the table and there was interest.

here are some pics.

Must have been a great evening. Fehan is such an engaging public speaker and that is about as cool a location as you could want to have an event.
