vroom! Looking over their specs, I wonder what made the bigger difference: the mag shocks or the carbon brakes? Seems that the rest is about the same...

I just wish I saw more of both on the track!! I think I've been on track with 1 ZR1 and 1 Viper(of any kind) in the past 5 events (2 years for me).
I didn't see either at NASA when I went there in the fall and just a single ZR1 in any class at any of the PCA events in the last several years.

There are always a lot of C5Z though!

I managed a 1:37.2 at Laguna in the C7 prototype in Gran Turismo 5. Does that count?

Not trying to muddy the water but the 2010 Viper ACR did a 1:33.1 at Laguna Seca IIRC

Most importantly, were both cars fully compliant with FMVSS 581 (formerly 215) with DOT sworn and blood-sealed certification thereof?

You're too slow... stock C6Z and Racing:Soft tire (Hoosier R6?) I did a 1:29.x. No cutting, correct racing lines.

That was on Sports Hard tires, just like it came as downloaded. I got a 1:27.2 with Racing Softs. 1:29 is a stock Z is awesome too!
