Default Jersey Touring Car Challenge 2013

The Jersey Racing Board received considerable positive comment from the two Jersey Touring Car Challenge races held this year and has decided to offer an extended series for the JTCC at major tracks in the Northeast.

The rules for next year's series will retain the same three touring car classes incorporating a wide variety of compatible SCCA and NASA prepared cars. There will be minor additions to reflect the 2013 revision of the SCCA touring class rules. The complete ruleset will be published in January.

Preliminary 2013 Jersey Touring Car Challenge schedule

- 11-12 May - Pocono

- 25-26 May - Watkins Glen

- 13-14 July - NJMP Thunderbolt w/SVRA

- 11 August - Pocono

- 5-6 October - Watkins Glen

- 19-20 October - NJMP Thunderbolt

The format of these events will be the same as last year - race one day of the weekend with a twenty minute qualifying session in the morning and a forty minute race in the same afternoon. The weekends with two dates listed above indicate that the organizer has not yet completed planning for the weekend schedule. There will also be opportunities to race in the primary regional or national event at most races. The final schedule will be published early in the year when the scheduling details become available.

I hope to see ya at a JTCC race in 2013

Default Preliminary 2013 Rules

The preliminary rules for the 2013 Jersey Touring Car Challenge have been posted on the NJRRS web site - JTCC rules

These rules are essentially the same as the 2012 with the exception of the Touring Challenge Classes. This year we have recognized additional classes in our three Touring Classes. We have also made some adjustments for the reorganization of the SCCA Touring Classes.

These rules will be open for input and comment until 15 April. Questions / comments can be directed to Joe Aquilante at JFAPhoenix32@aol.com or me at THanushek@rcn.com

The first JTCC race is in conjunction with the Joe DeLuca and Linda Gronlund Freedom Races at the upgraded Pocono on 12 May.

I hope to see ya at Pocono

Default Round 1 Registration is Open

Registration for Round 1 of the Jersey Touring Car Challenge at Pocono on Sunday , 12 May, is open on MotorsportsReg

Supps and Schedule ... Register ... Entry List

The Joe DeLuca and Linda Gronlund Freedom races will be honoring two long time members of the Northern New Jersey Region who tragically lost their lives in the crash of Flight 93 on 9/11.

The race will be run on the dramatically improved Pocono Raceway. Both infield courses have be completely redone and widen to 45'. The runoff area has been graded and compacted. Definitely not your father's Pocono. This weekend will be the first SCCA weekend on the upgraded course.

New configuration, new surface, new facilities-terrific! Here's your chance to be part of the inaugural SCCA event at this refurbished arena.

Hope to see ya at Pocono
