Default Camera mount on inside rear glass?

I'm getting a Panavise mount with ext. it appears to be one of the better ones, same mount that GoPro uses.

Will this stick on the rear window over the defrost grid or is that just not going to be smooth enough?

I don't have a cage or harness bar.

Other suggestions?

I want to show driver steering inputs for analysis.

Thanks

I had a gopro mounted with its supplied suction cup on a c6 rear glass and never had any problems.

I have used a GoPro mount with a digital camera grafted on and it works fine in that location.

If I leave it in the sun it occasionally falls off while the car is parked. I reset the suction cup before going out and have had a 0% failure rate while driving so far.

Thanks all,

That's the exact view I want, to be able to see driver hands & course.

Do you know what the snap, crackle, pop is in your audio?

How do you determine the framing of your video once you have your camera attached to the rear glass? Do you have to look through the window glass to see what you will be recording?
Thanks

That would depend on the camera. Most camcorders have a fold out LCD panel that is flippable. GoPros and point and shoot cameras you would have to look through the back window to adjust angles.

Just eyeball it? The distance works about right, I find, to just aim it approximately forward at zero zoom. I haven't ever looked at the screen from the back or whatever.

Glad I could help...

I have an external mic, it was not plugged in all the way..lol.. with no ext mic, I get noting but wind noise

BTW.. what is the height on your cam? Mine is 4 5/8 inches and it is near the limit of being able to mount to the lowest part of the glass and pivot up to give me an almost level view out the front window. Thus showing me most of the track in front of the car.. if it were taller I would have to move it up on the glass and get a downward view, thus giving me a shorter viewing distance through the camera and a shorter track view. Hope that made sense.

This.. I am using an Aiptek hd cam.. it has a 3 inch flip out screen, I flip it out and then adjust it till I get the view I want. Panavise gives me many options on adjusting it to my liking

My camera is 2x2x4.5 inch & I got a Panavise extension if I need it.
