Harry's Laptimer for IPhone - anyone used it??
Found an inexpensive program for the Iphone that appears interesting - Harry's Laptimer. It combines the GPS and video capabilities of the phone to gather and display data from a track session. Has anyone here used thes APP ? Comments pro of con would be appreciated.

I have used it for 2 years now and love it. I have my data as soon as I get off the track rather than having to D/L to a computer and run the software. About the only complaint I have is that the data overlay is by lap only. You can't overlay the entire event.

Not hard at all. You can either D/L the entire event to your computer or overlay laps and post straight to YouTube. I will say that HLT is a memory hog. I bought a 64 GB iPhone just for it. I typically have to D/L each day and erase it off the iPhone for the next day.

Real easy to use and to download the videos to pc. After you record the video, you can choose to overlay the data on top of it (of course you would, this is the whole benefit of the app). After you overlay the data for each lap, the video is automatically moved to the same folder as your iphone photos and videos and can be managed in the same way. I have a 16GB 4S. Only down sides are that my storage fills up fast (each 25 min session is ~5GB) and the battery drains quickly (each session uses ~40% of battery).
For even better info, you can get a bluetooth OBD II (adds RPMs and gear info) and a better GPS (more accurate).

+1 on the gps antenna upgrade. App is simple and works. I found it increased the accuracy allot. I couldn't get the obd-II port to work with the device though which is why I wanted it. Pm me if u want details.
I ended going with the aim solo with the obd option. I will be using it this summer.

Has cell phone GPS gotten better? From what I read about two years ago the GPS's in phones just weren't quick enough to record data accurately when compared to something like Traqmate.
This is a good thread discussing it.

Yes verified to consistently be within 0.1 sec lap times of a AMB transponder. Can't say anything about the accuracy of the real-time numbers though.

I use RAM mount for the iPhone. Works well.
