The new agreement that starts in 2013 is a four-year deal, and the network will provide over 100 hours of programming across the NBC network and cable channel NBC Sports Network. All 20 races will be broadcast live using both NBC and NBC Sports Networks. Also of note is all of the races will be streamed live on broadband on NBC Sports Live Extra.

NBC will televise four races, including the Canadian Grand Prix in June and the final three races of the season in November, while the remaining 16 races will air on NBC Sports Network. The latter three races of the season include the United States Grand Prix in Austin, Texas on November 17. NBC Sports Network will also televise all practice and qualifying sessions.

With this new deal with Formula One, NBC will be the U.S. home for open-wheel racing, as they will again air the majority on the IndyCar series with selected races including the Indianapolis 500 being broadcast on ABC.

he is probably still under contract with speed. At least we didn't lose them all as some of the other races had horrible announcers.

Varsha has another year on his Speed contract and they have an option to extend it another year if they choose.

No choice but to find a replacement for Varsha for at least the short term.

Yep. I fully expect Varsha to jump ship to NBC when his contract is over, at least if his emotional appearance after the '12 Brazilian GP was anything to go by.

Great, i miss F1 when i am in Florida

BUT, how can we get the best coverage of motorsport on my iPAD ?
ALMS
F1
Indy
GT racing Europe
etc.

WITHOUT having a cable contract at home ?

i am willing to pay, i understand they need to make profit to give me value, but i dont want a cabel package paid for a year, when i am ONLY interested in motorsports

cool if he came over also. they are a good team. Doing it so long together they all have their place. Hobbs is better than some tool that never raced announcing.

have a cable contract at work? Most European series have races on youtube, though taped delayed, same with ALMS.

Agreed, I hope Varsha makes it, Diffey is annoying to listen to.

Still Diffey is better than some of the others NBC has had as race commentators in the past and has worked with the rest of the crew. I too hope Varsha makes the jump next year. BTW, Diffey is an Aussie.
